This week I’ve started a new promotion for our authors by running a Drabble of the Week. Each Monday I check to see which Drabble has received the most votes for the previous seven days and I will then promote that here on the blog, along with promoting it on the Drablr Twitter account, Facebook, and Tumblr pages.
When there is a tie in votes, I will tot up the Facebook/Twitter/Gooogle+ likes, and in the event there is still a tie, I will checkout the analytics to see which Drabble received the most page views.
So, without further ado…
“Murderer!” said ten-year-old Ian.
“I… I didn’t mean to… It just happened,” said nine-year-old Luke.
Ian scrutinised the victim. “Why, Luke? Why?”
“I don’t know… I… I just—”
“I just didn’t think.”
“And now you’ve taken a life.”
“It… It was an accident, okay?”
“Luke, I was watching you, it was no accident.”
Luke lowered his head and looked at the floor.
“Let’s go, before someone finds the body,” said Ian, prising a rolled-up magazine out of Luke’s hand.
A fly lay motionless on the window ledge – all six legs in the air.
