“Katie, NO, how many times do I have to tell you?”
“What now, Miss?” Katie asked rolling her eyes, plainly bored with her teacher’s nagging. She may only have been six but she knew what she was doing with some coloured tissue paper, blunted scissors and glue.
“It’s Mother’s Day. The apostrophe comes BEFORE the ‘s’ as the day belongs to your mother, singular.”
“Actually, Miss, I think I’m correct.”
“Then you can stay in at break for disobeying me.”
“I’m not disobeying you, Miss. I have two mothers. My parents are lesbanyms. It’s 2014, Miss. Get with the times!”
