I’m not sure if our Drabble of the Week award goes to Peter for a great piece of fiction, or if it’s perhaps more a nice autobiographical work. Whichever it is, it’s still a great drabble.
Suffice to say, don’t try this at home…or your local Post Service!
Edwards had persuaded one of his friends to indulge him in his illogical fetish for the postal service. Packaged up in a sturdy box, surrounded by bubble-wrap and with strategically placed holes for ventilation, he had taken similar journeys before, being sent around the country and emerging at his location a couple of days later.
But Edwards’ current postal journey, from Halifax to Taunton with a trusted courier company, went drastically wrong: intercepted by the police, believing it to be a suspicious package, the bomb disposal squad were called in.
Suffice to say, Edwards’ fetish was cut messily short.
